weather

The weather looks bad during our scheduled shoot! What can you do to help?

If it is raining during our scheduled time I have options for you.

  • Cloudy days - Stay prepared for your shoot, I can still make your property look great with sky replacements*

  • Light drizzle - I can continue with the photoshoot and I will replace the sky of two images*

  • Downpour - I dont photoshoot exterior of houses when there is an storm. Equipment can be damage and it can not be safe. We can split the shoots into 2 days - Interiors while its raining, and exteriors another day. The interior shoot will be billed as a full shoot and the following exterior shoot will be billed separately ($60)

  • I need this listed today! - If the property needs listed ASAP I am happy to continue our photo shoot rain or shine.

  • Reschedule for another day -  happy to reschedule for another day, but please don’t rely on the weather forecast for final judgment until the night before our shoot. You can reschedule up to 3 hours before the photoshoot.

*Sky replacements require 24 hrs for editing and I will do it to two images*

The home is not ready Would you clean up?

I can't clean up after the home owners or move heavy furniture. If a chair or item needs to be moved to get a better image I will be happy to do that, but if a room is cluttered or dirty I cannot move all the items or wait for someone else to do that.

TRAVEL

Do you take photos outside the greater Indianapolis area?

Yes, but there are travel fees for anything outside the greater Indianapolis area and Hamilton County. If the location is more than 20 miles from the Carmel studio, a travel fee of $0.57 per mile will be added to the session cost for every mile above 20 miles back and forward up to 30  miles.

PREPARE YOUR LISTING FOR A PHOTOSHOOT

First impressions are very important and will help your home be photographed on time and with high quality. How do I prepared the home?

Outdoor

  • Remove all vehicles from your driveway and do not park directly in front of the house.

  • Move garbage cans out of sight. Remove all garden tools including hoses and sprinklers. Also remove trash cans from bathrooms and kitchen.

  • Mow and rake yard, set up exterior furniture, raise umbrellas  (if they do not block the view of the house). Mainly for spring and summer photoshoots.

  • Remove the grill cover.

  • Have some flowers over the patio table.

  • Sweep driveways, sidewalks and patios.

Everywhere

  • Thoroughly clean the house

  • Turn on floor, wall or side table lamps and chandeliers but have ceiling lights turned off.

  • Open blinds & curtains to allow natural light in. Have them closed if the view is to another wall or is too distracting.

  • Turn ceiling fan and televisions off.

  • De clutter rooms that may be excessively furnished. They do not photograph well.

  • If you have pets remove crates and pet food.

Dining room and Living room

  • Straighten chairs and make sure they are evenly spaced.

  • Remove high chair or booster chairs.

  • If you have time set up dinning table with simple placemats, silverware and plates.

  • Remove picture frames and remote controls.

  • Remove some pillows and only keep 1-3.

Kitchen

  • Clear counter tops in kitchen and remove paper towels. Less is better.

  • Remove photos, notes and papers from the refrigerator.

  • Hide garbage can.

  • Have a bowl with fruits in the kitchen. It gives some nice color.

Bathrooms

  • Close toilets lids.

  • Clean bathroom mirror well.

  • Remove tooth paste, tooth brush, soap, shower cap, razor, hair product, and etc from sinks, tubs, and showers.

  • Remove bath mats.

  • Replace dirty towels.

Bedrooms

  • Make all beds tidy to avoid wrinkles. Clothes hung, or folded and put away.

  • Remove piles of newspapers and magazines from night stands.

  • Remove picture frames.

  • Tuck trash cans out of view in a closet.

  • Set empty spaces/rooms with a painting, planter, small table, or a chair if it is possible.
